JAMAICAN BANANA PORRIDGE

Jamaican banana porridge is very simple and easy to make. This dish is delicious and it makes a great breakfast for both children and adults.

INGREDIENTS:

Jamaican Banana Porridge
  • 5 Green Bananas
    1 can Grace Coconut Milk
    (Buy Now)
  • 1 Lasco Food Drink Vanilla
    (Buy Now)
  • 3½ cups of water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon powder
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ cup salt
  • ¾ cup condense
    milk
  • Sugar to taste

    DIRECTIONS:

    • Add 2 cups water into a large sauce pot to boil.
    • Peel and wash the bananas. Cut the bananas into smaller pieces.
    • To a blender, add bananas, 1 cup water, coconut milk, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon and salt and blend thoroughly for 2 minutes.
    • Stir in banana mixture into pot and stir continuously for 4 minutes until the porridge thickens.
    • Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the porridge to cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning at the bottom.
    • Mix a pack of Lasco Food Drink Vanilla into half cup water and add to porridge with condense milk and sugar to sweeten.
